Review guidance and information on <a href=\"\/research\/myresearch-lifecycle\/closeout\/reporting\/\">Closeout Reporting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"progress-report-mod\"><\/a>Progress Reports and Award Modification Requests<\/h3>\n<p>If the sponsor allows direct submission, an Award Modification in SAGE is not required.<\/p>\n<p>It is the PI\u2019s responsibility to retain a copy within departmental files according to UW <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.uw.edu\/recmgt\/gs\/research\">Records Retention<\/a>. OSP does not need a copy.<\/p>\n<p>If the sponsor <strong>does not allow<\/strong> a PI to submit their progress reports directly (such as USDA), you will need to submit a <a href=\"\/research\/myresearch-lifecycle\/manage\/award-changes\/#progress-report-rppr\">Modification Request in SAGE for Progress report Submission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/research\/faq\/when-do-i-need-mod-request-progress-report\/\">When do I need to create a Modification Request for a progress report?<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"rppr\"><\/a>Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR)<\/h3>\n<p>Most federal agencies\u00a0require the PI to submit Annual, Interim and Final <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/bfa\/dias\/policy\/rppr\/\">RPPRs<\/a>\u00a0for grants. Some awards allow the PI to submit their RPPR directly, while others require the PI to initiate their RPPR and route\u00a0it to the Signing Official,\u00a0<a href=\"\/research\/contact-us\/?keyword=598\">your OSP reviewer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"info-for-rppr\"><\/a>Information needed to complete an RPPR:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic <a href=\"\/research\/institutional-facts-and-rates\/\">institutional<\/a> and project identifying data\n<ul>\n<li>Signing Official (SO) field: Should list the current OSP Interim Director, Amanda Snyder or <a href=\"\/research\/contact-us\/?keyword=598\">your OSP reviewer<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Accomplishments from past activity period and goals for upcoming activity period<\/li>\n<li>Outcomes or &#8220;products&#8221; from the activity such as technologies and publications\n<ul>\n<li>Review NIH <a href=\"https:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Public Access Policy<\/a> guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Effort of all personnel, including all collaborators<\/li>\n<li>Impact of the project and major contributions\n<ul>\n<li>for example: to the discipline, human resources (teaching, training), public knowledge, social conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Changes to the project: delay in plans, changes in approach, compliance (animal use, human subject involvement, biohazards), other support, etc.\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t forget to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/sage\/guide\/egc1-forms\/egc1-pi-personnel-organizations-page\/personnel\/\">update changes in personnel<\/a> on the eGC1. Any personnel added will need to complete a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/guide\/topics\/overview-and-navigation\/\">FIDS<\/a> disclosure for that eGC1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Budget information (if required)<\/li>\n<li>If applicable: protocol for Animal Subjects or Human Subjects Enrollment data<\/li>\n<li>When Other Support training is required by sponsors such as NIH:\n<ul>\n<li>All individuals identified or added as senior\/key personnel after award must complete the <a href=\"\/research\/required-training\/financial-conflicts-of-interest-training\/\">Financial Conflict of Interest &amp; Other Support Disclosure training<\/a> before a Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) is submitted. This training is tracked and visible in MyResearch Training Transcript.<\/li>\n<li>If the PI submits an RPPR directly to a sponsor, the PI is certifying that information is accurate and will comply with sponsor terms and conditions which may include this training requirement for all senior\/key personnel.\n<ul>\n<li>As a reminder, the PI retains personal responsibility and accountability for all portions of the proposal, including post-submission revisions. NIH requires an Interim report for the final year of a competitive segment.<\/p>\n<p>An Interim RPPR must be submitted, even if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Interim RPPR is due after the start date of renewal.<\/li>\n<li>Renewal has already been awarded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If a renewal is funded the Interim RPPR serves as the annual RPPR for final year of previous competitive segment.
