{"id":467,"date":"2016-09-22T09:53:11","date_gmt":"2016-09-22T16:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/?page_id=467"},"modified":"2026-02-26T11:29:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T19:29:09","slug":"financials","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/myresearch-lifecycle\/manage\/financials\/","title":{"rendered":"Financials"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Spending<\/h2>\n<p>All expenditures on a sponsored award must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>necessary,<\/li>\n<li>reasonable,<\/li>\n<li>allocable to a sponsored award,<\/li>\n<li>administered consistently across all sponsored awards, and<\/li>\n<li>allowable per the terms of the Award, sponsor requirements, and applicable UW regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/policies\/gim-23-sponsored-program-costing-policy\/\">GIM 23 &#8211; Sponsored Program Costing Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Award Management<\/h2>\n<p>Departments and Principal Investigators (PIs) are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of their UW Awards. PI\u2019s are responsible for the management of their sponsored awards.
